Large and small field inflation from hyperbolic sigma models

چکیده

Long standing themes in inflation include the issue of large field vs. small as well question what fraction phase space leads to sufficient inflation, and furthermore is compatible with experimental data. In present paper these issues are discussed context modular a specialization framework automorphic nonlinear $\sigma$-models associated homogeneous spaces $G/K$ which continuous shift symmetry group $G$ weakly broken discrete subgroups $\Gamma$. The target theories inherit curved structure from $G$, case invariant hyperbolic geometry. It shown that this class models both inflationary trajectories within single model. analyzes concrete model $j$-inflation, nontrivial inflaton interactions. describes some detail initial conditions, including systematic analysis several phenomenological functions on space, leading constraints curvature scalar by upcoming experiments, discussion scaling behavior spectral index, finite volume attractor comparison geodesics. tensor-ratio shows $j$-inflation an interesting for ground satellite experiments.

On the Large N Expansion in Hyperbolic Sigma – Models

Invariant correlation functions for SO(1, N ) hyperbolic sigma-models are investigated. The existence of a large N asymptotic expansion is proven on finite lattices of dimension d ≥ 2. The unique saddle point configuration is characterized by a negative gap vanishing at least like 1/V with the volume. Technical difficulties compared to the compact case are bypassed using horospherical coordinat...

Large Field Inflation in Supergravity

We present a supergravity inflationary scenario in which the inflaton field takes values considerably larger than the Planck scale. It is based on a class of inflationary potentials which can be derived from “singular” Kähler potentials assuming simple superpotentials of the type W ∼ S. To this class belong, among many others, all potentials which are even infinitesimally smaller than the one d...

The Hyperbolic Heisenberg and Sigma Models in (1+1)-dimensions

Hyperbolic versions of the integrable (1+1)-dimensional Heisenberg Ferromagnet and sigma models are discussed in the context of topological solutions classifiable by an integer ‘winding number’. Some explicit solutions are presented and the existence of certain classes of such winding solutions examined.

Vacuum orbit and spontaneous symmetry breaking in hyperbolic sigma - models

We present a detailed study of quantized noncompact, nonlinear SO(1, N) sigma-models in arbitrary space-time dimensions D ≥ 2, with the focus on issues of spontaneous symmetry breaking of boost and rotation elements of the symmetry group. The models are defined on a lattice both in terms of a transfer matrix and by an appropriately gauge-fixed Euclidean functional integral. The main results in ...

Large Non-Gaussianities in Single Field Inflation

We compute the 3-point correlation function for a general model of inflation driven by a single, minimally coupled scalar field. Our approach is based on the numerical evaluation of both the perturbation equations and the integrals which contribute to the 3-point function. Consequently, we can analyze models where the potential has a “feature”, in the vicinity of which the slow roll parameters ...
